Jake Niedzwiecki

THORP -Jake H. Niedzwiecki, 85, of Eau Claire, formerly of Thorp, died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at The Clairemont in Eau Claire.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Thorp Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Czestochowa Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He was born July 3, 1920, in rural Thorp to Jacob and Petronella (Jarocki) Niedzwiecki. He married Lucille Romanowicz on May 16, 1953, at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. She predeceased him June 8, 1984. He had taken over the family farm prior to marriage and continued to farm until 1985, when he sold it to his son. He remained on the farm until 1998, when he moved Necedah, then to Eau Claire in 2001.

He is survived by his children, Diane (Patrick) McLaughlin, Denver, Carol (Bradly) Brenner, Eau Claire, Steve (Rebecca) Niedzwiecki, Long Prairie, Minn., and Jane (Todd) Steinmetz, Browersville, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; one brother, Frank Niedzwiecki, Winona, Minn.; and three sisters, Marie Chudy, Beaver Dam, Leona Hadzima, Coon Rapids, Minn., and Rosalie (George) Klovas, Thorp.
