APPLETON - Elise A. Luhrsen, 97, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at Mt. Olive Evangelical Lutheran Chrch, 930 E. Florida Ave., Appleton, with the Rev. Joel Zank officiating. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St., Appleton, and again from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. The interment will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Elsie was born in the town of Hull on July 29, 1908, daughter of the late William and Anna (Meinke) Witte. She graduated from Colby, Wis. High School in 1926. Elsie was then employed for 20 years for Dr. Schemmer and Dr. H.H. Christofferson at the Colby Clinic. She married Delos Luhrsen on June 30, 1942, and they moved to Stevens Point in 1946. Delos preceded her in death April 23, 1986. Elsie loved crocheting, embroidery, reading and word search puzzles and gardening, especially roses.
She will be greatly missed by her son, Robert, Appleton; sister, Hilda Kriplean, Appleton; nieces and nephews, Joyce Kranzusch, Appleton, Donna (Bob) Gueldner, Hales Corners, Dennis (Charlotte) Witte, Rochester, N.Y., and Donna Glee (Jack) Musolf, Las Vegas; two grandkittens, Marti and Patches, Appleton; and other relatives. Elsie was preceded in death by her brother, Edwin.
