Alfred Johnsrud

Alfred Johnsrud, 88, Spencer, died Thursday, February 1st, 2007.

Funeral services were held February 5 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, with the Reverend Karl Rose presiding. Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery with grandsons Rick, John and D. J. Woodkey, Randy Mess, Brian and Josh Johnsrud and Aaron Poncheck serving as pallbearers.

Memorials Alfred’s name may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer.

Alfred was born October 14, 1918 in Auburndale, son of Knute and Thea (Hanson) Johnsrud. He received his education in Arpin.

On December 22, 1972, Alfred and Lillian Woodkey were united in marriage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer where he served as trustee for three years.

Mr. Johnsrud retired from working for Weir Oil Company in Marshfield.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Lillian (Woodkey) Johnsrud, Spencer, one son, Michael (Arlene) Johnsrud, Marshfield, three step-children, Jean (George) Mess, Ted (Darlene) Woodkey and Dennis (Ellen) Woodkey, all of Spencer; nine grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; two sisters; his only daughter, Sharon Shelly; and one granddaughter.

Marina-Community Funeral Home, Spencer assisted the family with arrangements.
