Marion, Emma R. (1854 - 29 DEC 1929)
Mrs. Emma Rose Marion, 75 years old, and an old settler of Stetsonville country, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Ashland last Sunday afternoon following an amputation of her left limb above the knee, gangrene resulting. The body was brought to Stetsonville Wednesday by her daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. August Leitzow, and burial took place Thursday morning from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, old time settlers acting as pallbearers.
Mrs. Marion, who the older residents will remember, was a sister of Mrs. Henry LaBossier of this village (Dorchester, Clark Co., Wis.), and lived a short way south of Stetsonville until Mr. Marion’s death about ten years ago when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. August Leitzow, 402 Prentice Av., Ashland, where she has been ever since.
She has one son, Fred, of Milwaukee, and two, Joe and Ed of Kenosha, who were at Stetsonville for the funeral besides the Leitzows, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bangel of Owen, and a host of sympathizing friends.
Mrs. Marion was a splendid woman and her loved ones and friends will miss her sorely. The Clarion joins in offering sincere sympathy to those so sadly bereaved.
