Gertrude J. Kettner
OWEN - Gertrude J. Kettner, 88, Owen, died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Clark County Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday Nov. 5, 2005, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, Wis. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Rhinelander.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the church.
Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Gertrude was born Aug. 27, 1917, in Longwood to Frederick M. and Gunda (Anderson) Awe. Gertrude and Philip B. Kettner were married March 30, 1935, in Abbotsford, Wis. He died in 1987. After their marriage they moved to Lake Forest, Ill. In 1953, they started Phil-Bert Construction Co. with a business partner. They retired in 1971 and moved to Rhinelander. After Phil died, Gert maintained their home and property until she decided to move back to Owen in 1999.
Gert is survived by her son, Philip E. (Lois) Kettner, Rhinelander; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mildred Peaslee, Melbourne, Fla., and Ilene (Chuck) Pribbernow, Owen, Wis.
