Chapman, Robert ( 20 JUL 1883 - 31 DEC 1936)
Robert Chapman was born at New Richmond on July 20, 1883, son of Frank and Rhoda Sara Johnson Chapman. His home was in that city until 1922, during which time he was one of its prominent citizens, being an expert accountant. Adversities overtook him, and thirteen years ago he came to live on a tract of land in the town of Cleveland, making his home with a cousin, George Johnson. He was overcome with the cold while walking part of the distance to the Johnson home, after a visit in this village, two weeks ago, and was taken to the hospital at Black River Falls for treatment. He died at the hospital Thursday morning, Dec. 31, 1936, aged 53 years, 5 months and 11 days.
He is survived by one brother, Frank, who is engaged in the wholesale lumber business at Winnipeg, Man., Canada.
Funeral services were held at his late home on Saturday afternoon, Rev., V. D. Weidler preaching the sermon and burial was in the Hillcrest cemetery. His brother came from Winnipeg to attend the service.
