Maritzkee, Hannah (22 FEB 1865 - 29 JAN 1931)

(Wausau Daily Record-Herald)

The community was saddened last week to learn of the death of Mrs. J. Maritzkee (Moratzka on cemetery listing) at her home here (Dorchester, Clark Co., Wis.) last Thursday, Jan. 29th, 1931, due to heart failure. Funeral services were held from the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Rev. J. Brandt officiating and interment was made in the cemetery here (Memorial South) with Emil Harder, Robert Schmidt, William Stevens, Frank Stevens and Adam Schneider acting as pallbearers.

Hannah Nelson was born Feb. 22, 1865 at Iola, Wisconsin. She grew to womanhood there on April 13, 1900, she was united in marriage to Julius Maritzkee at Dorchester, Wis. Three children were born to this happy union: one son, Earl, at home; and two daughters, Ethel, at home, and Evelyn, now Mrs. Wm. Roberts, of Bradley. Besides her family, Mrs. Maritzkee leaves a sister, Mrs. Hanson of Gleason, and a brother of Oakland, Calif.

Mrs. Maritzkee had been ailing for several years and though her departure was not entirely unexpected, she will be gratly missed by all who knew and loved her well. To those bereaved ones the Clarion joins the many friends in offering sincerest sympathy.

Out of town relatives attending the services were Mr. and Mrs. Ole Hanson and son, Ray, and Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Hanson of Gleason, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Utecht, Mrs. Ben Goetsch and Robert Johnson of Merrill, and Mrs. Clara Bucher of Westboro.
