Mrs. Mary Koch Passes Away

Mrs. Mary Koch was laid to rest in the North Lutheran Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon.

Mrs. Koch passed on at noon on Saturday, March 16 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Newman, 4 ½ miles northeast of Spencer, in the Town of Brighton. She had been ill the past week.

She was born in Germany April 3, 1858, and came to this country 64 years ago. She has been living with her daughter for the past 2 ½ years. Her husband, Chris, preceded her in death.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. H. C. Hinz at 1:45 from the Swarthout Funeral Home and at 2 o’clock at St. John’s Lutheran Church.

She is survived by 7 sons and daughters, Mrs. William Newman, Spencer; Herman Koch, Sedalia, Mo.; William Koch, Kaukauna; Mrs. Olaf Landt, Milwaukee; Henry Koch, Manitowoc; Harry Koch, Rock Springs, Wyo.; and John Koch, Melrose Park, Ill. One daughter preceded her in death. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
