Grant R. Rose

GRANTON -- Grant Raymond Rose, age 84, of Granton, died Tuesday, March 6, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2007, at the Zion American Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton. Interment was in the town of Lynn Cemetery. Visitation was from 10 a.m. until service time March 10 at the church.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Grant's family with funeral arrangements.

He was born June 12, 1922, in the town of Grant, Clark County, the son of Elmer and Martha (Krause) Rose. He farmed on the family farm. He was united in marriage to Edna Mae Stauffacher on Sept. 11, 1949, in Granton. Along with farming, Grant also worked in Panner's Cranberry Marshes in City Point during the fall harvest, and for several years as the town of Lynn's assessor. Grant and Edna Mae sold their farm to their son, Merle, in 1987 and moved to their current home.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Mae; three children, Rose Ann (Gary) Chriske of Plover, Harlan (Judith) Rose of Marshfield and Merle (Lori) Rose of Granton; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
