Empey, Norman E. (25 DEC 1908 - 7 MAY 1931)
Norman Edward Empey, third oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Empey, passed away at his home, six miles southwest of here (Dorchester, Clark Co., Wis.), Thursday, May 7th, 1931, after an illness of only three days with pneumonia.
Norman was born Dec. 25, 1908, and was 22 years, 4 months and 12 days of age at the time of his death. He leaves to mourn his loss his parents, two brothers, William of Chicago and Nelson at home, and three sisters, Mrs. Irene McDermott of Chicago, and Mildred and Vivian at home.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Milan Lutheran Church, Rev. Groh officiating. Art and Harold Schade, Irvin Zahorka, Eric Schauer, Arlo Benzman, Oscar Olson, Rudy Haderlein, and Harvey Denzin acted as pallbearers. Flower girls were Adeline, Ruth and Viola Denzin, Adeline Busse, Kathleen Empey and Grace Baronsky. Burial took place in the Milan Cemetery.
Out of town relatives and friends attending the funeral were John Empey and family of Waukesha, Ernest Empey of Milwaukee, Mrs. McDermott, William Empey, and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Sprotte and family of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Schaus of Rib Lake, Mrs. C.J. Cotter and Harry Viking of Minneapolis, and Mrs. F.R. Schauer of Green Grove.
Sincere sympathy is extended the bereaved family in their hour of sorrow.
