Local Happenings

A gas pump has been installed at Angus Flood’s feed warehouse. Gas will be retailed.

A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Harris, at the Krohn Clinic, Dec. 19th.

Geo. Dimmitt was home from his work in Milwaukee over the Christmas Holiday.

Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Simons were guests at the home of Geo. Stanley in Altoona Monday.

Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Noyes spent Christmas afternoon with Mrs. Noyes’ people in Eau Claire.

John Stallard came from Eau Claire to spent Christmas day with his father, and both spent Monday at the Shute home in Altoona.

Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Short and Miss Caryl spent Monday at the Donald Sherwood home in Eau Claire. Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Sherwood, of Fairchild, accompanied them to Eau Claire.

Gordon Jenswold was home for a few days from his work with the National Youth Administration at Madison. His brother Walter was also home from Mankato, where he is enrolled in a business course.

Chimney fires at W. M. Rosolack’s and at Albert Kersting’s on Greub, Sr. farm Tuesday called out the fire ladies. Some damage was done to the house on the Greub farm by the heat setting fire to the wood surrounding the chimney.

Christmas greetings have come to use from Mr. and Mrs. John Brinkman, of Waycross, Ga., and from Harry Carter, of Portland, Ore. Mrs. Brinkman writes that she is not well, suffering a heart ailment, but that Mr. Brinkman is quite well, and business good, and the weather if fine. Mr. Carter writes that he has been a bit under the weather - a mighty east wind of several days duration put that glorious climate on the shelf for a while and put Friend Carter into the house with a case of grip. He states that he was interested in Frank LaFavre’s letter in a recent issue of the Enterprise, as he was a schoolmate of Mr. LaFavre back in the old school house, and they were seat mates in the double-seat days. Both Mrs. Brinkman and Mr. Carter extend holiday greetings to all old friends here.
