Metzger, George (7 DEC 1877 - 25 MAR 1932)
Funeral services were held a week ago last Tuesday, March 29, for George Metzger, who passed away at the Winnebago Hospital Friday, March 25, 1932 at the age of 55 years, 3 months and 22 days. Rev. L. Thiel conducted the services at the Little White Church and interment was made at the Memorial Cemetery with R.W. Hugoboom, J. Buehrens, M.E. Vircks, Carl Bunke, Wm. Evers and Wm. Yanke acting as pallbearers.
George Metzger was born Dec. 7, 1877, in the town of Harrison, Calumet Co. At the age of four he moved with his parents to Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.), with whom he lived until 1914, when he moved to the home of his sister, Mrs. George Putnam, of Maplehurst. In 1924 he was taken to the Winnebago hospital where he passed away. Death was due to epilepsy and heart trouble.
During his life, he spent his time laboring in various lines of activity, farming, lumbering and other numerous labors. He will be well remembered by many of the older inhabitants of the village.
He leaves one sister, Mrs. George Putnam, to mourn his loss, his parents having preceded him in death. He also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. The Clarion joins the friends in offering sympathy to the bereaved ones.
