Beichler, Florence (Marriage - 10 Aug. 1946)

A pretty mid-summer wedding took place Saturday morning at 9 o’clock at St. John’s Catholic Church, when Miss Florence (Doddy) Biechler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Biechler, 312 Wis. St. Marshfield, exchanged marriage promises with Delmar Carlson, Hillsboro, son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Carlson, Unity. Bouquets of gladoli, larkspur and asters adorned the altar and two full baskets of hydrangeas and larkspur flanked the entrance to the sanctuary.

The Rev. Charles E. Herbers was celebrant at the Nuptial Mass and Miss Ruth Wenzel served as organist. The bride was presented in marriage by her father.

Members of the wedding party included Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Buttke, Marshfield, matron of honor and best man; Miss Mardelle Sawyer, Neenah, and Miss Evelyn Hudak, Milwaukee, bridesmaids; Clifford Binning and Conrad Flink, Unity, ushers.

The bride’s gown of white nylonette over satin was designed with a bouffant skirt gathered to a wide embroidered net waistband. Embroidered net ruffles edged the Madonna neckline, bordered with seed pearls, the lace cuffs of the long sleeves and hemline of the full skirt. Her veil of illusion edged with embroidered net was caught to a seed pearl tiara and she carried a colonial bouquet of Joanna lilies.

Mrs. Buttke’s dress of white nylonette over orchid satin was made with a snug fitting bodice that flared into a short ? peplum, edged with braid repeated on the deep yoke. She carried a yellow gladiola centered with orchid gladioli, arranged in a colonial bouquet.

Both bridesmaids were dressed alike in frocks of white nylonette over yellow satin. Three tiers of ruffles gave a drop shouldered effect to the basque bodices. The skirts were long and full. Their bouquets of gladioli were predominantly orchid colored with yellow flowers fanning the centers of the bouquets. All the attendants wore large crownless lace hats trimmed with graceful sprays of Esther Reed flowers.

Dinner was served to the immediate relatives at Stans Steak House on Saturday noon. A bridal cake centered the table decorated with bowls of garden flowers.
