Field, Evaline (12 July 1858 - 15 Sept. 1939)
Evaline Miles was born July 12, 1858, in Dane County, Wis., and was united in marriage to Lemuel C. Field June 7, 1893. With her mother, they moved to Clark County May 10, 1901, and later to Jackson County, in the town of Cleveland, where they have since made their home.
To this union were born four children: Thoreau and Clara at home, Clarence of Fairchild, and Olive, who preceded her in death Jan. 21, 1929. Her husband departed this life Sept. 27, 1928.
The end came for Mrs. Field about 1:15 a.m. Sept. 15, 1939. Arrangements were being made to take her to the clinic when death intervened.
Mrs. Field was a lover of music especially of sacred numbers, and at one time was assistant organist for the M. E. Church in Madison. She was also a lover of flowers.
She leaves to mourn three devoted children, eight grandchildren, and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the Free Methodist Church by Rev. C. F. Olson and Rev. R. M. Osborn Monday at 2:00 p.m., following a short service at Kretschmer’s funeral parlors. Interment was in the Curtis Cemetery, near her husband. Pallbearers were Thos. Anderson, J. Hefty, Gunder Holman, Chas. Holman, Frank Swenson and H. Nelson.
