Boullion, Margaret May (Marriage - 24 Aug. 1940)
Miss Margaret May Boullion and her attending maids walked down the aisle in single file at St. Joseph’s Church, Fairview, at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 24. The Rev. J. J. Sheridan performing the double ring ceremony. The bridegroom, Mr. Bernard Mahan, and the young men who served him, waited at the candle lighted altar, decorated with gladiolas and cut garden flowers.
For her marriage the bride wore a white princess of brocaded marquisette over satin. She wore a blush veil and the tulle of her veil falling to full length from the pearl halo. A strand of pearls was the bride groom’s gift for her to wear with her costume. Roses and baby breath in her bouquet were showered with streamers of white. Pink gladiolas were carried by Miss Elvena Barry, maid of honor, in pink embroidered marquisette over satin. Miss Regis Mahan, of Valley City, N. Dak., sister of the groom, wore a pale blue organdy over satin and carried peach colored gladiolas. Miss Mildred Boullion, of Milwaukee, sister of the bride, wore pink net over satin, and carried white gladiolas. Their halos were of flowers. As flower girl, Rosemary Melcher wore a pale green net, floor length over satin.
Thomas Mahan, of Valley City, N. Dak., wore blue, like that of the groom. Gordan Boullion, brother of the bride, wore dark green. Their boutonnieres were white carnations.
Miss Kathryn Dolye played the wedding marches, and singing was rendered by the choir of the parish.
The bride’s mother wore a street length blue sheer, trimmed in white.
The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Boullion, Humbird, and the groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mahan, of Laverne, N. Dak. A breakfast was served to the bridal party after mass and dinner was served at the noon for sixty-five at the bride’s home.
Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jos. Michael and son Thomas, Leonard and Valeria Berg, Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Aberhamson and son Arthur, Louise Witz, Camp Douglas; Mary Leterski, Spring Valley; Edward Finnegan, Elvena Barry, Ann and Gertrude Steines, La Crosse; Corp. Glen Boullion, Little Falls, Minn.; Thomas and Regis Mahan, Valley City, N. Dak.; Mildred Boullion, Milwaukee, Frances Melcher, Chicago.
Upon returning Sept. 7th, from a trip to northern Minnesota and North Dakoa, Mr. and Mrs. Mahan are to reside at 1227 Winnebago St., La Crosse. Mr. Mahan is employed at St. Francis Hospital.
The young ladies of Paramount Photo Shop, were hostesses at a pre-nuptial shower, and Mrs. Richard Mahan, Laverne, N. Dak., also entertained for her.
