Bever, Loretta (Marriage - 12 Oct. 1940)
Saturday morning, Oct. 12th, at 8 o’clock at St. Joseph’s church at Fairview, Loretta Bever, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Bever, and Clarence Linder, were united in marriage in a double ring ceremony, Father Sheridan officiating, Miss Kathleen Doyle and Mrs. Nick Schlichter, aunt of the bride, sang hymns during mass.
Miss Sally Pflieger, friend of the bride, and Mr. Lawrence Bever, brother of the bride, acted as sponsors.
The bride was attired in a wine colored dress with hat to match, and carried her prayer book and rosary instead of flowers. The bridesmaid wore a dress of green with matching hat.
The groom wore a blue suit, while the best man wore a suit of dark green. Both wore white flower boutonnieres.
A reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Both dinner and supper were served. A free wedding dance was given in the village hall at Humbird. The honored couple received many very beautiful gifts.
Mr. and Mrs. Linder will reside on the groom’s farm near Humbird. The entire community joins in wishing them much luck and happiness. - From the Augusta Union.
