Elmer Meyer Accidentally Killed
A silo filling accident last Tuesday caused the death of Elmer Meyer, 31 year-old Colby township farmer, at his farm 3 miles west of Colby.
Meyer had jumped from his wagon to investigate a noise in the filler when the cover of the blower fan flew off and struck him in the head. He was killed instantly.
A native of Colby Township, he was born on November 22, 1915. He leaves a wife and two sons, Ronald, 5, and Robert, 5 ½ months. His mother, Mrs. Arthur Edblom, Town of Colby, also survives. His father, Fred Meyer died in 1943.
Funeral services were conducted at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Green Grove, at 2 p.m. Friday, the Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Ted Domer sang at the services. Burial took place in the Green Grove cemetery.
