In the first half the locals led in a score of 20 to 11, but during the second half failed to get the ball into the basket, while Osseo was dropping them in. The legislature has enacted a tax extension law similar to the act of a year ago and two years ago. The act provides that taxes may be paid on real estate till June 1st by filing with the town treasurer an affidavit of inability to pay the tax now. The board must adopt the act to make it effective. We understand the town board will extend the time until March 1st for payment without the two per cent penalty.

Will Theiler had a car accident near Neillsville the last of the week, that might have had some fatalities, and anyhow it probably added some gray hairs to all in the car. Mr. Theiler, his wife, her mother Mrs. Trachsel, and Mr. and Mrs. Aebersold from Colorado, turned north from Highway 10, west of the viaduct at Neillsville, to visit some people who recently moved from Colorado. The car slipped on the icy road, went off a steep bank and turned over, doing very little damage to the car and with no injuries to the occupants. Had the accident happened a rod father along the road, the care would have gone into a deep hole in Black River and all would have drowned.
