Morris Hagen Returns
The return to his home at Whitehall last Sunday of Morris Hagen, whose mysterious disappearance the night of April 13th, of last year, got our little hamlet into a nation wide limelight, clears up the mystery. Mr. Hagen’s auto was found abandoned on the highway east of this village, and later a pair of socks which were said to have been identified as belonging to him were found by the creek nearby. Mr. Hagen claims that he started walking to town after a tire went flat, and that he was picked up by a passing car. That, he claims, was the last he remembered for several months. He discovered himself while at work in a garage at Mechanicsville, Iowa, and then wrote to an uncle at Blair. A son living in Chicago brought the lost man home.
