Gotter, Velma M. #3 (14 MAY 1933 - 11 MAR 2007)
Velma M. Gotter, 73, Loyal, died on Sunday, March 11, 2007, in the Palliative Care Unit at Saint Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 14, from 4-8 p.m., at Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, and on Thursday, March 15 from 10 a.m. until an 11 a.m. funeral service at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. The Rev. Daniel Zimmerman will officiate. Burial will follow in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ron Gotter, Eric Gotter, Brian Timm, Bucky Gardner, Bobby Gardner and Greg Kollmansberger.
Velma May Gotter was born on May 14, 1933, in the town of Beaver, to Floyd and Margaret (nee Zuege) Gardner. She was raised on her family’s farm and educated in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School in 1951. She married Elmer Gotter on Dec. 8, 1951, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal. They farmed north of Loyal, where she was a homemaker and mother and helped her husband on the farm. They sold the farm in 1990 and moved into Loyal. She then worked at Figi’s in Marshfield for two years and later ay Weinbrenner Shoe Company for three years. She retired in 1995. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal, and had served on the town of Hixton election board in the mid-1950’s. She had many interests, especially spending time with her grandchildren and family, playing cards and Aggravation, and bowling.
She will be sadly missed by her husband, Elmer, Loyal; five children, Bonnie (Vern) Schreindl, Marshfield, and Eugene Gotter, Riplinger, Dean (Beth) Gotter, Spencer, Kevin Gotter, Marshfield, and Cheryl (Mike) Timmler, Loyal; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Jean Gardner, Owen, Wis.
Preceding her in death were her father, Floyd Gardner; her mother, Margaret Gardner-Hinkelmann; her stepfather, Ernest Hinkelmann; two brothers, Harold Gardner and Vern Gardner; and two sisters, Lorea Kollmansberger and Lucille Sommers.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with arrangements.
