Hales, Hiram P. (15 FEB 1858 - 6 OCT 1938)
Hiram P. Hales was born at Markson, Wis., Feb. 15, 1858, and when about twelve years old he went with his parents by Wagon Train to Iowa where they settled on the prairie; here he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Mollie H. Hemphill. To this union two children were born, Maude, Mrs. A. E. Peirce, Sibley, Iowa; and Roy O. Hales, of Loyal.
The deceased came to Loyal with his son Roy about twenty-three years ago, where since made his home. He passed away Thursday, Oct. 6th at 11:30 A. M. of old age complications.
He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Maude, Sibley, Iowa, and Roy of Loyal, six grand children and three great grand children besides a host of relatives and friends. He was known by many as Grandpa Hales, always kind and thoughtful of others.
Short funeral services were held from the Hales home at 1:30 Saturday afternoon and at 2:00 o’clock at the M. E. church. Interment was made in the Loyal Cemetery, Rev. Fleming officiating.
The Tribune joins the many friends of the bereaved in extending sympathy to them.

Peirce, Sibley, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Bert Coleman, Terrill, Ia., Mrs. George Fliss, Everly, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Vivian Hales, Dicken, Ia., Mrs. Ray Alexander, Terrill, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Mose Page, Stanley, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Guy Outschall, Minneapolis, Minn.
