Mrs. Anna Evenson Dies at Unity Home
Had Been a Resident of the Unity Community for Many Years; Had Been In Ill Health Past Eight Months.
Mrs. Anna Evenson, aged 74 years, who had been a resident of the Unity community for many years died at her home in Unity Friday. She was a member of the Unity Trinity Lutheran church, the American Legion Auxiliary and of the Rebekah lodge.
Anna Olea Anderson Helland was born in Nogkelegaard, Nykerke, Norway on Dec. 25, 1870 and came to Unity in June 1893. She was married on May 22, 1894, to Christian Evenson who died Sept. 28, 1937. Surviving are three children, Alvin S. Evenson of Hiles, at present, a patient at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield; Martin E. Evenson of Unity and Mrs. Ralph (Lillie J.) Davis of Redmond, Ore., who has been here for the past few months caring for her mother. There are also two grandchildren and two great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs. Magda Bergstrom of Chicago and Mrs. Theresa Olson of Drammen, Norway.
Funeral services were conducted at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby and at Trinity Lutheran church Sunday afternoon and burial was made at Crandon, Wis., Monday. Those from away who attended the services were Mrs. Magda Bergstrom, Mrs. Mildred Nelson and daughter Gloria, and S-lc Russell Gordon Bergstrom of Chicago; Mrs. Ralph Davis of Redmond, Ore.; Mrs. Alvin Evenson, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hansen and Ole Anderson of Hiles; Mrs. Ella Buchmiller, Henry Komps, Ronald Komps, Miss Neva Komps, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Buchmiller, Mrs. Jean Buchmiller, Mrs. Inga Firnstahl, Mrs. Leo Budahn and Mrs. Franklin Graham of Marshfield; Mrs. Otto Anderson of Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Long of Stanley; Mr. and Mrs. Ory Sixel of Colby.
Pall bearers were George Cook, Herman Voght, Ted Salter, Elmer Langjahr, Sam Stark and Wm. Creed. Flower attendants were Ella Stark, Amy Klein, Pearl Langjahr, Ella Kanter, Signa Johnson, Alma Hudson, Gertrude Melander and Sabina Peterson of the Legion Auxiliary and Rebekah Lodge.
