Hudson, William Roy (13 Feb. 1884 - 22 Apr. 1944)
Funeral services for William Roy Hudson, aged 60 years, who died Saturday morning at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield, were held Tuesday afternoon with American Legion members in charge. There was a 1:30 service at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby and a 2 o’clock service at Zion Evangelical Lutheran church at Colby, with the Rev. O. H. Hoffman officiating.
Mr. Hudson was born Feb. 13, 1884 in Dexterville, Wis., and married Anna Kops, June 23, 1919, at Colby. He lived in the states of Idaho and Washington and had been a resident of Unity for the past 25 years. He was a member of the American Legion and a veteran of World War I. He is survived by his wife, four children, Dorothy, Harold and Geraldine at home, and Mrs. Harold (Margie) Runge of Unity; one sister, Mrs. Mentor Christian of Kimberly, Idaho, and two grandchildren. One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Military funeral services were held for Wm. R. Hudson, aged 60 years, were held Tuesday afternoon of last week at 1:30 from the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby and at 2:00 from the Zion Lutheran church in Colby with Rev. O. H. Hoffman officiating, assisted by the Otto H. Kops Post of the American Legion of Unity and the Colby Post of Colby. The firing squad was in charge of Otto Erickson; taps by Ansel Messeer. Pall bearers were Unity Legion members: John W. Johnson, Martin Evenson, Edward Feit, Herman Ewert, Gust Carlson and Earl Ringquist. The floral crerings were carried by members of the Legion Auxiliary: Mrs. Martin Evenson, Mrs. Elmer Langjahr, Mrs. Sam Stark, Mrs. Gust Carlson, Mrs. John Johnson, Mrs. Earl Ringquist, Mrs. Herbert Kanter, and Miss Amy Klein.
Out of town relatives and friends who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kurth and family, Mrs. Adrian Hentger, Mrs. Dale Worden of Wisconsin Rapids, Hilton Kurth of Loyal; Mrs. Elsie Purkis of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Kops of Hilbert; Mrs. Edwin Tesmer and Mrs. Walter Kuehling of Tomahawk and Mrs. Kenneth Parman of Athens.
Surviving members are his wife, four children, Harold, Dorothy, Geraldine and Mrs. Harold Runge (Marjorie); two grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mentor Christian of Kimberly, Idaho. One sister, one brother, father and mother preceded him in death.
The American Legion and Auxiliary served supper for relatives and out of town guests in the Lutheran church dining room in Unity.
