Charles Boyer Married To Gertrude Dekens

Bowman Field, Ky. - Charles Boyer was married July 13. His bride says he is "the great lover" too, but he hails from Wisconsin, not France, and instead of being a movie star, he’s a corporal in the First Troop Carrier Command of the Army Air Forces. Slight and fair, rather than dark and stocky like the film idol, Corporal Boyer took another corporal for his wife, WAC Gertrude Dekens of Harvey, Ill. They were married in a double-ring ceremony in the base chapel at Bowman Field, Louisville, Ky. Pfc Ruth Rothove and Corporal Irving Soverino, maid of honor and best man, like the bridal couple are members of the medical section at the field. Corporal Dekens is the sister of Andrew and Engel Dekens of Hazelcrest, Ill. She attended Harvey high school and later worked in Chicago. Her WAC job is in the flight surgeon’s office at the base hospital. Corporal Boyer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Boyer of Unity, Wis. He is a graduate of the Unity, Wis. High school.
