Voelker, Martha (11 Apr. 1874 - 4 Jan. 1945)

Mrs. Wm. Voelker, who was taken to the hospital at Marshfield Jan. 2, suffering with bronchial pneumonia passed away early this Thursday morning. She had lived in this community for the past eight years. Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon, Jan. 8 at the Swarthout Funeral Home at 1:45, and at 2:00 o’clock at the Trinity Lutheran church in Spencer with Rev. A. C. Stapel in charge. Internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.

Mrs. Martha Voelker was born April 11, 1874 in Manitowoc county and at the time of death was 70 years, 8 months and 23 days of age. Mar. 5, 1892 she was married to Wm. Voelker in the town of Coleman. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran church in Spencer and practiced her Christian faith diligently. She had been in ill health for quite a few years but bore her pain with Christian fortitude.

Surviving Mrs. Voelker are her husband and the following children: Mrs. William Schorer of Colby; Alvin Voelker of Chili; Edwin Voelker of Spencer, Walter Voelker of Marshfield. She was preceded in death by one child. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and one brother, Herman Sivert of Marinette.
