Richard Wiersig
Richard Wiersig, 69, Spencer, died Thursday, March 1st, 2007 at Mission Regional Medical Center, Mission, Texas.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 8th, 207 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery, Colby. The Reverend Karl Rose will preside.
Richard was born July 4th, 1937 in Colby to Arthur and Erna (Stock) Wiersig. He graduated form Colby, Wis. High School and served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1962.
Richard and Violet (Mayer) were married July 23rd 1960.
He worked construction in Wisconsin and neighboring states, drove semi-truck cross country and worked for the U.S. Postal Service for a short time.
Richard also owned the Hi-Way Motel in Marshfield, the Lindsey Store in Lindsey and Leisure Time Crafts in Spencer.
He is survived by his wife Violet, Spencer; his children, Guy (Sandy) Mayer, Granton, Richard Wiersig Jr., Marshfield, and Cynthia (Larry) Mueller, Spencer; six grandchildren and two sisters, Janice (Jack) Shortt, Marshfield and Connie (Larry) Raatz, Stevens Point.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Maurina-Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
