Hagen, Abel R. (? - 7 Apr. 1945)
Abel R. Hagen, manager of the Marshfield branch of the Thorp Finance Corporation, was killed instantly early Saturday morning when his car left the highway and crashed a half mile north of the Casa Loma on highway 13 near Marshfield. Two employees of the Dairy Belt Products Company of Spencer saw the car leave the road. They immediately righted the car and called an ambulance, but Mr. Hagen was dead. He suffered a broken neck and crushed skull, his head having been caught between the door and the car as it overturned. The car was damaged on the right side. Coroner Dr. A. W. Burek and Sheriff Joseph Andreski of Marathon county was called to the scene of the accident. Mr. Hagen was returning home from Greenwood where he had clerked an auction on Friday on the Milton Boe farm.
