Prange, Hildegard (Marriage - 20 Jun. 1945)

Miss Hildegard Prange, daughter of Mrs. Carl Prange of Unity, was wed to Elroy Albert Augustine, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Augustine of Colby in a double ring ceremony read at 1 p.m. June 20, in the Zion Lutheran church at Colby. The altar was beautifully decorated with ferns and flowers for the occasion. Rev. O. Hoffman officiated and Mrs. L. Priem sang the self-accompanied solo, Like A Shepherd, and played the Bridal Chorus and Wedding March.

The bride wore a white slipper satin gown fashioned with a full entrained skirt and her veil was caught to a crown of seed pearls and rhinestones. For jewelry she wore a pearl necklace and earrings, a gift of the groom, and she carried roses and swansonia. Ella Ramker of Unity, a sister of the bride, in a yellow net and satin frock, was matron of honor, and Mrs. Marvin Augustine, the groom’s sister-in-law, in a similar dress in aqua, was bridesmaid. Both junior bridesmaids, Lucille Augustine, a sister of the groom, and Donna Mae Baumgart, and the flower girls, Eunice Ann and Beatrice Ellen Zettler of Marshfield, wore white. Eunice Ann carried the rings on a calla lily and Beatrice Ellen held a bouquet of flowers similar to the bride’s. The other attendants wore corsages of roses and swansonia and received handkerchiefs and earrings as gifts from the bride. The little girls were given tiny white crosses. Paul Sill of Colby, a cousin of the bride, and Marvin Augustine, the groom’s brother, attended the groom.

A 4 o’clock dinner was served to 75 guests at the home of the bride’s parents decorated with yellow, blue and white streamers, and a white wedding bell. Mrs. Prange, mother of the bride, was attired in a light blue flowered dress and Mrs. Augustine, the groom’s mother, wore black.

Mrs. Augustine was graduated from Colby, Wis. High school in 1942, and is employed by the Roddis Co. in Marshfield. The groom is an honorably discharged veteran of the present war after four years of service. They will live on a farm near Unity and Mrs. Augustine will continue with her employment.

Guests from away were Mr. and Mrs. Max Prange and daughter of Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Zettler and son, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Zettler, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Hansen of Marshfield; Edward Kuehmichel of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Burkhardt and son of Thorp; Mrs. Alfred Schultz of Marshfield. Phyllis Goodell of Spencer and Arlyle Sachse and Mrs. George Kowalk waited on tables and Mrs. Henry Weller, Mrs. Otto Baumgart and Mrs. John Marx cooked the dinner.
