Frank, Harriette Elaine (Marriage - 17 Nov. 1945)
Miss Harriette Elaine Frank, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Frank of Milwaukee, became the bride of Raymond Martens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Martens of Spencer, in a double-ring wedding ceremony read in St. John’s Lutheran church in Brighton by the Rev. H. C. Hinz Saturday, Nov. 17 at 2:30 p.m. Attendants were Miss Vivian Dallman of Colby, as maid of honor, Roy R. Martens, brother of the groom, best man, and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Grove and Mr. and Mrs. Laverne Olson, brothers-in-law and sisters of the groom, as bridesmaids and groomsmen.
Wearing an entrained wedding gown of brocaded ivory satin fashioned with a full net overskirt, a molded bodice and long fitted sleeves, the bride came down the church aisle on the arm of her father to meet her bridegroom at the altar. A cluster of orange blossoms held a crown-shaped headdress and she carried long stemmed white chrysanthemums. Her pearl necklace was a gift of the groom. All three of her attendants also wore white satin with ballerina overskirts of net. Matching net headdresses completed their attire and they carried white, yellow and orchid colored pompons. The pearls were gifts of the bride. Following the ceremony dinner was served to 80 guests at the Martens home where the table was centered with a large three-tiered wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom ornament. Large bouquets of white chrysanthemums and streamers of blue and white crepe paper and wedding bells added to the decorations.
Mrs. Martens was graduated from the Elmwood high school in 1940 and her husband is a member of the 1937 graduating class of the Spencer high school. They will reside in Marshfield where Mr. Martens is employed. Mrs. Martens for the past four years has worked in Milwaukee as a beautician.
Guests from away were Mrs. Herman Lentz of Spring Valley; Mr. and Mrs. James Frank, Mr. and Mrs. John Fitchett and family of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bein, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Bucholz, Mr. and Mrs. Milford Hueppchen of Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Al Hoover, Mr. and Mrs. C.
