Otis, Carrie Mae (5 Dec. 1883 - 26 Feb. 1936)
Mrs. William E. Otis died at her home in Antigo Wednesday, Feb. 26, after several months’ illness.
Carrie Mae Hull was born in Fairchild, on December 5, 1883, and came to Antigo with her parents in 1898. She grew to womanhood in this vicinity and was united in marriage to William E. Otis of Antigo, on Sept. 18, 1903. Several years after their marriage the young couple moved to Ashland, where they made their home for many years, returning to Antigo five years ago. Until the time of her illness, Mrs. Otis was associated with the Langlade County relief office as a case worker. The deceased was active member in church circles, was past worthy matron of LaBelle Chapter of Eastern Star of Ashland. She was also a member of the White Shrine of Jerusalem of Appleton.
Surviving are her husband, one son, Maurice L. Otis, of Ashland, her mother, Mrs. R. C. Hull, of Antigo, a sister Mrs. R. B. Bresette of Chicago, a grandson, William W. Otis of Ashland, and her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. W. Crandell.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, Feb. 29, at 2:30 o’clock from the funeral home and at 3:00 o’clock from St. Ambrose Episcopal church, and Rev. Wm. F. Christian of Merrill, officiated. Interment was at Antigo.
