Sommers, Ione Franchone (9 April 1907 - 9 Dec. 1994)

Ione Franchone Sommers, 87, of Loyal Wis., passed away at Bethel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Arpin , Wis. on Friday, Dec. 9, 1994, at 5:20 p.m. of thyroid cancer.

Services will be held at a later date.

Ione was born Aug. 9, 1907, in Sumner, Wash., to Nathaniel Ansan and Nellie Mae (Sischo) Windsor. She attended school for 12 years. She married George J. Sommers Nov. 15 ,1929, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Colby ,Wis.

Before her marriage she worked as a maid in the Loyal area. After her marriage, she and her husband farmed cattle until his death .She then worked at the Loyal Canning Co. and later at Relli's I.G.A. in Loyal for many years. After retiring, she continued to live in Loyal until entering the nursing home in July 1994, where she resided until her death. She loved bowling.

She is survived by one son, Dale Windsor of Johnstown, Colo.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband who died April 19, 1960: and her parents.
