Elmendorf, Myrtle (27 April 1905 - 8 Dec. 1994)
Myrtle Elmendorf was born April 27, 1905, to Magnus and Marie (Dostler) Romfoe in the town of Aurora, Taylor County.
She attended grade school in the Gilman area and later Stanley High School.
On July 18, 1923, she married Harold Elmendorfer and they farmed in the Thorp area for 4 years. They moved to Neillsville in 1929.In 1942 the family moved to Seattle and lived there until the time of Harold's death in 1965. At that time, she returned to Neillsville, Wis.
Elmendorf was a resident of the Memorial Nursing Home from March 1988 until October of this past year at which time she was moved to the nursing home in Gilman.
She passed away Dec. 8, 1994, at the hospital in Medford.
She is survived by two daughters; Doreen Sexton of Seattle and Bonnie (Bud) Bremer of Bull Head City, Ariz. She is also survived by one sister, Lorraine Dearth of Gilman; also six grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Thursday, Dec. 15, 1995, at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church in Neillsville, Wis.
