Services for former Loyal resident Bernard A. "Ben" Clouse, 92, who died at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Neillsville Memorial Medical Center, were held Saturday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, with the Rev. Roman Kaiser officiating, Burial was in the parish cemetery.
Rinka Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers were Glen Clouse, Franklin Walter, Jerry Hinker, Gene Hinker, Nathan Noeldner and Terry Stutte.
He was born Dec. 14, 1900, in the town of Beaver, Clark County. He attended East Beaver School for eight years.
He married Clara Stutte June 21, 1932, in Wausau. They farmed in the town of Beaver until 1960, then moving to Loyal. He worked for Pathfinders in Spencer until his retirement in 1966. He lived in Loyal until 1992, at which time he entered Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville, where he resided until the time of his death.
He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
He is survived by three sisters, Eva Laffe of Black River Falls, Gertrude Hoogewind of Madison, and Olive Schlei of Green Bay, and nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife on Aug. 31, 1990; a daughter, Catherine, who died at birth; his parents, and one brother, Frank.
