Ewald, William (14 Mar. 1880 - 23 Nov. 1971)

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church here for William Ewald, 91, of Spencer, who died Tuesday evening at the Marshfield Convalescent Center.

The Rev. William Ruhbusch, pastor, will officiate and burial will be made in the church cemetery.

Visitations may be made at the Jasperson Funeral Home here from noon Thursday until noon Friday and then at the church.

Mr. Ewald was born March 14, 1880, in Two Rivers, and received his education in the town of Unity. He was married Oct. 27, 1909, in North Spencer, to Amelia Mellenthin, who survives. After their marriage they farmed in the town of Unity until about 24 years ago when they moved into the village of Spencer.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had served on the town board of Unity.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Gertrude) Reichert, Medford; a son, Gordon Ewald, Unity; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Tena Wieland, Sheila, Wash.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.
