"Joe" Baer, for many years a well known Clark County publisher, committed suicide by hanging himself in the garage at his home in Neillsville Monday night. The body was discovered by his wife when she returned home from a party. Mr. Baer was editor and publisher of the Granton News until that paper was merged with the Neillsville Press. Last October he became editor of the newly established Clark County Journal. Financial difficulties are said to have been the cause of the act.
