Greeler, Erwin H. (30 Oct. 1905 - 2 Nov. 1987
Neillsville - Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church for Erwin H. Greeler, 82, Route 4, Neillsville, who was pronounced dead on arrival at 3:37 a.m. Friday at Neillsville Memorial Hospital.
The Rev. Richard F. Weber will officiate. Burial will be in the Neillsville Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Music will be provided by Marilynne Maciejczak, accompanied by Sharon Nemitz.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at Gesche Funeral Home, also until 11 a.m. Tuesday and then for an hour before services at the church.
Mr. Greeler was born Oct. 30, 1905, in the town of York, a son of the late Charles and Minnie Greeler. He attended Happy Hollow School, town of York, St. John’s Lutheran School, Neillsville, and Neillsville High School.
He farmed with his parents, later taking over the home farm which he operated until his retirement in 1975.
He married Lorena W. Matter June 18, 1931, in Spencer. She survives.
Mr. Greeler then assisted his son on the farm until his death. He was a former supervisor from the town of York and was on the Happy Hollow School Board for many years. He also was a member of St. John’s Church and the Neillsville Senior Citizens.
Surviving besides his wife, are one son, Erland, Neillsville; three daughters, Mrs. Raymond (Delores) Zipfel and Mrs. Harold (Janice) Mayer, both of Neillsville and Mrs. Roger (Lucille) Tyler, Granton; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
