Schwantes, Frances (1 Mar. 1881 - 8 Oct. 1966

Colby - Mrs. William Schwantes, 85, Colby, died Saturday afternoon in Memorial Hospital at Neillsville, Wis.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Colby with the Rev. David Pankow officiating. Burial will be made in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.

The body will repose at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby until the time of services.

The former Frances Justman was born March 1, 1881, at Iron Ridge. Her marriage to William Schwantes, who preceded her in death Oct. 25, 1955, took place April 17, 1902, at Spencer.

After their marriage, the couple farmed west of Unity until 1928, when they moved to the city of Colby.

Mrs. Schwantes was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church and its sewing circle.

Survivors are two sons, Maynard Schwantes, Leon, Iowa; and Donald Schwantes, Neillsville; a daughter, Mrs. Byrne (Ermine) Neville, Elm Grove; two brothers, Walter Justman, Unity; and Norval Justman, Edgar; two sisters, Mrs. Esther Lambert, Edgar; and Mrs. Harry Hermanson, Spencer; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Walter, four brothers and three sisters.
