Kopp, Ferdinand Kopp (12 Mar. 1887 - 21 May 1970)

Ferdinand Kopp, 83, of route 5, Marshfield, died at 6:15 p.m. Thursday at the Marshfield Convalescent Center.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. The Rev. Eldore Messerschmidt will officiate and burial will be made in the Neillsville cemetery.

Friends may call at the Hansen Funeral Home from noon Saturday until 2 p.m. Sunday, and then at the church.

Mr. Kopp was born in Poland March 12, 1887 and came to America at the age of 22 and settled in Chicago, being employed there in construction work.

He was married in Chicago June 17, 1911, to Amelia Marks, who preceded him in death July 20, 1946. His second marriage took place July 11, 1951, and was to Mrs. Esther Gehrke, who preceded him in death on April 25 of this year.

Mr. Kopp came to the Clark County area in 1912 and farmed there until 1946, when he moved into Marshfield to be employed at the Roddis Plywood Company (now Weyerhaeuser). Later he worked as a gardener at the Roddis home.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and the Senior Citizens Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Hattie Schwarze, Marshfield; two sons, William Kopp, Cambridge; and Albert Marks, Neillsville; and three stepchildren; Mrs. Harry (Dorothy) Budtke, Marshfield; Mrs. Charles (Geraldine) Florence, Loyal; Mrs. George (Gloria) Florence, Pittsville; six grandchildren, 11 great-stepgrandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Kopp was also preceded in death by a son.
