Milton Ystad

Milton LaVern Ystad, 77, of Loyal died Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at the Marshfield Care Center.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Greenwood. Internment will be held in Greenwood City Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday. Military rites will be conducted by the Greenwood American Legion Post No. 238. Cuddie Funeral Home of Loyal is assisting the family with arrangements.

He was born Jan. 31, 1930, on the home farm in the town of Beaver to Olaf and Elsie (Rossow) Ystad. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953, and served during the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1955. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Roix on Jun 4, 1957, in Clinton, Ind. They farmed the family farm until retirement in 1996. Milton was also a square dance caller for most of the area towns that had clubs.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of Loyal; four children, Dawn (Don) Susa of Spencer, Randy (Carol) Ystad of Greenwood, Russ (Mary) Ystad of Loyal and Janis (Jerry) Weigel of Jim Falls; and 11 grandchildren.
