Ewald, Amelia (23 Dec. 1890 - 13 Mar. 1973

Spencer, Wis. - Mrs. Amelia Ewald, Spencer, who had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Ralph Reichert, at Medford, died at 5:55 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. She was 82 years of age.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spencer with the Rev. William Ruhbusch, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the Trinity Lutheran cemetery.

Visitations may be made at the Rux Funeral Home in Spencer after 2 p.m. Thursday.

The former Amelia Mellenthin was born Dec. 23, 1890, in the town of Unity and received her education in the Unity schools.

On Oct. 27, 1909, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in the town of Brighton, she was married to William Ewald, who preceded her in death Nov. 23, 1971. After their marriage they had farmed in the Unity area until 1943, when they moved to Spencer.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Gertrude) Reichert, Medford; a son, Gordon Ewald, Unity; a sister, Mrs. Anna Schultz, Milwaukee; two brothers, Arthur Mellenthin, Spencer, and Otto Mellenthin, Marshfield; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
