Oswald, Violet (8 Feb. 1890 - 18 Mar. 1971)
Greenwood - Services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, March 22, at Kirchoff Funeral Home in Sparta, for a former Greenwood resident, Mrs. Albert (Violet) Oswald, 81, of Big Bend, Wis. Mrs. Oswald died March 18, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital, where she had been a patient since March 10. Burial was made in Sparta.
Mrs. Oswald was born Feb.8, 1890 in Sparta. She was married Aug. 14, 1907 to Albert Oswald, who preceded her in death in 1958. After their marriage they farmed in the Sparta, Greenwood and Shortville areas until 1956, when she moved to Big Bend, where she has been making her home with a son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Behrens.
She was a member of the Baptist Church in Pewaukee.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Douglas (Shirley) Behrens, Big Bend; she is survived by a son, Orville Oswald, Greenwood; and two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Verna) Nolan, Greenwood; and Mrs. Lawrence (Winifred) Halbrader, Dousman; 17 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a daughter.
Pallbearers for the services were Gary Oswald, Vernon Nolan, William Jaeger, Michael Kaiser, Daniel Barrea, and Warren Halbrader.
