Spencer, Wis. - Mrs. Arthur (Edna) Mellenthin, 68, of Spencer, died of complications at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, at the Marshfield Convalescent Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. John’s Lutheran Church at North Spencer, with the Rev. David J. Ault, pastor, officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.
Visitations may be made at the Jasperson Funeral Home in Spencer from noon Tuesday until noon on Wednesday and then at the church.
The former Edna Miller was born March 12, 1903, in the town of Sherman, Clark County, and received her education at the Veefkind School.
She was married June 22, 1921, at Veefkind, to Arthur Mellenthin. The couple farmed in the town of Unity until 1956, then moved to Spencer.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Kenneth, Spencer; four daughters, Mrs. C. A. (Phyllis) Simpson, Corpus Christi, Texas; Mrs. Allen (Marlynn) Hotsenpillar, Fremont, Calif.; Mrs. Jack (Theone) Lundquist, Thiensville, Wis.; and Mrs. Melvin (Janice) Meyer, Greendale, Wis.; 18 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Louie Miller, Chicago; and Norman Miller, Colby.
Because of the funeral, Wednesday afternoon Lenten services at St. John’s Lutheran Church, have been cancelled.
