Newman, Frank William (20 Jan. 1882 - 6 Jul. 1951)

Spencer, Wis. - Frank William Newman, 69, Spencer, died at his home here last night at about 6:20 o’clock. Death was attributed to the complications of old age.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. R. J. Scholtz officiating. Burial will be made in the church cemetery.

The body is reposing at the Swarthout Funeral Home here where it will remain until 11 a.m. Monday when it will be taken to the church to lie in state until the services.

Mr. Newman was born Jan. 20, 1882, in the Town of Unity, Clark County. He was educated in the public schools of that township. He was married to Clara Naatz on May 26, 1907, at Spencer.

The couple farmed about 3 ½ miles northeast of here until about 23 years ago when they moved to the Village of Spencer to live. A deacon of the Trinity Lutheran Church for 15 years, and a trustee for 3 years, Mr. Newman also held various offices while he lived here.

Surviving are his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Darrel (Frances) Griepentrog, Mrs. Earl (Bertha) Cramer, Mrs. Walter (Anna) Luepke, Spencer; and Mrs. William (Erna) Beier, Milwaukee; a sister, Mrs. Herman (Ida) Seefeldt, Spencer; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A daughter, who died in infancy, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.
