Lewan, Frank (4 OCT 1868 - 22 JUL 1933)
Frank Lewan, a resident of Bellinger, north of Thorp, died at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls on July 22nd, 1933 as a result of an operation for appendicitis. He was born in Poland on Oct. 4, 1868 and came to America in 1895, settling first at Hazeltine, Penn., and arriving at Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) on June 26, 1906, where he has since made his home. On September 21, 1895, he was united in marriage to Josephine Borowick.
Surviving him are his wife and seven sons, Joseph and Garfield of Chicago; Peter, Billie, Louis, Kazmere, Frank Jr., at home, and three daughters, Mrs. Fr. Kolaczki of Thorp and Marjorie and Antonette at home.
Funeral services were held at St. Stanislaus Church at Lublin on July 25th, at 10:00 a.m., Rev. F.J. Rapala officiating, and interment took place in the nearby cemetery.
Acting as pallbearers were A. Markowski, J. Robasczewski, M. Benk, M. Rycerz, V. Kroll and W. Muszynski.
