Starks, Orlando H. (8 AUG 1846 - 12 SEP 1933)

Orlando Hosea Starks was born in the state of New York Aug. 8, 1846 and died at his home here (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) on Tuesday morning, Sept. 12, 1933. While still a young man he moved to Tioga, Penn., where he was married to Miss Emily Bellinger in Feb. 1874. In 1876, with his wife and son Lorenzo, he came to Wisconsin and settled on the homestead in this neighborhood which has been his home since.

Surviving relatives are a son Hosea, who resides at La Connor, Wash., seven grandchildren, Everett, Emory, Evelyn, Edna, Erma and Eldrey Starks, and Mrs. Edythe Shortell, one great-grandchild, Leatryce Shortell, and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Sadie Starks. Two sons, Lorenzo and Ernest, preceded him in death.

The funeral was held at the Stanley Methodist Church at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Rev. Floyd Falgren officiating.
