Jerard, Hester A. (18 JAN 1845 - 12 OCT 1933)
Hester Ann Jerard, whose maiden name was Hester Ann Wright, was born in Jefferson Co., N.Y., Jan. 18, 1845, and died at her home in Stanley Thursday, Oct. 12, 1933. She was married to Henry Vincent Jerard in 1864. After their marriage they lived for a time in Michigan, returning later to New York. Some time during the seventies they came to Wisconsin and , after a brief residence in Elroy, came to Clark County and settled on 80 acres of wild land in the southwestern part of the town of Thorp, where they built up a comfortable home. Mr. Jerard died in January 1897. Mrs. Jerard remained on the farm until 1915 when she sold out and moved to Stanley.
The funeral was held in the Methodist Church at Stanley at 2 p.m. Sunday, Rev. F.A. Falgren officiating. Interment in the Eidsvold Cemetery.
Surviving relatives are a daughter, Mrs. Alice Warner of Stanley, a sister, Mrs. Melissa Warner of Hannibal, fourteen grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren, fourteen great-great-grandchildren and other more distant relatives.
