-Anderson, August W. (26 Nov. 1876 - 10 Jul. 1948)

August W. Anderson, 71, was found dead in bed Saturday morning at his farm home at Romeo. Mr. Anderson and his brother Charles farmed the Anderson Brothers farm north of Spencer and are well known farmers of this area.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Trinity Lutheran Church at Unity with Rev. J. A. Olson officiating. Burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery south of Unity.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon for August W. Anderson at Trinity Lutheran Church, Unity, at 2 o’clock. The Rev. J. A. Olson officiated and burial was made in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Mr. Anderson was born November 26, 1876 in Sweden and came to this country with his parents at the age of three. They settled near Spencer and he made his home in this community ever since. He worked in lumber camps before settling on a farm with his brother Carl.

Surviving besides his brother Carl, with whom he operated the Anderson Brothers farm, are another brother, John, Unity, and a sister, Mrs. Fred Helsten, Rockford, Ill.

Pallbearers were Maurice and Walter Anderson, John and Alfred Johnson and Edwin and Delmar Helsten, all nephews of Mr. Anderson.

In charge of flowers were Mrs. Russell Elander, Mrs. Hilda Krueger, Mrs. John Johnson, Mrs. Alfred Johnson, Mrs. Walter Johnson, Mrs. Rudy Anderson, Mrs. Walter Anderson, Mrs. Maurice Anderson, Mrs. Corwin Dallman, Mrs. John Neumann, Mrs. Ray Justman Jr., and Mrs. Ed. Melander.

Roy Justman, Helen Djerf, Mrs. Henry Binning and Mrs. J. A. Olson sang "Crossing The Bar" and "Beyond The Sunset."

Out-of-town persons at the services were Mr. and Mrs. Fred Helsten, Kenneth, Delmar, Edwin and Ivan Helsten, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Nelson, Mr. and Mrs. George Nelson, and Mrs. Hilda Krueger, all of Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Erlander, Freeport, Ill.; John A. Anderson and son George, Waupaca; Mrs. Esther Clark and Mrs. Edwin Kolbeck, Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Michels, Marshfield; Ed. Johnson, Colby; and Mr. and Mrs. Max Woodkey, Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Anderson and Mrs. Roy Justman, Jr., Marshfield.
