In a Solemn High Mass at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Hewitt, Wis. on Thursday, June 3, the Rev. Aloys Zinthefer read the marriage service for his niece, Miss Marie C. Zinthefer as he had for her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Zinthefer, Marshfield, route 4.

The bridegroom, Donald P. Kanter of Milwaukee, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Kanter, formerly of Unity. Assisting Father Zinthefer at the Nuptial Mass were the Rev. Nicholas Beschta of Colby as deaconand and the Rev. Robert Oberwinder of Hewitt, subdeacon.

The bride’s sister, Miss Delores Zinthefer, was maid of honor. Another sister, Miss Pauline Zinthefer, and her sister-in-law, Mrs. Joseph Zinthefer, were bridesmaids and a third sister, Clarice Zinthefer, was junior bridesmaid.

Attendants for the bridegroom were Douglas Young, Milwaukee, best man; Joseph Zinthefer and Joseph Fuchs, Marshfield, groomsmen; John Zinthefer and Sylvester Wiegel, cousins of the bride, ushered.

The bride was gowned in a traditional satin fashioned with a Queen Anne collar and a Chantilly lace yolk. The full side panels were edged with the same imported lace as was the long circular train, her lace-edged fingertip veil was draped over a sweetheart bonnet of shirred illusion trimmed with pearlized orange blossoms which matched those at the neckline of her gown. She carried a shower bouquet of calla lilies, white and red roses, and swansonia tied to each of the streamers.

The maid of honor wore a blue ninon gown styled with high gathered neckline and long sleeves. The bridesmaids were dressed similarly in yellow. They carried colonial bouquets of yellow and deep red carnations.The junior bridesmaid’s gown followed the bridal design and her flowers were identical to the bridal bouquet.

At the close of the Mass, the bride was met at the altar by her little brother, Rudolph Zinthefer, who handed her a bouquet of mixed carnations which she placed at the altar of the Blessed Virgin.
