Shirley Behrens, 79, Waukesha, died on Monday, March 26, 2007, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services were held Thursday, March 29, at Cesarz, Charapata and Zinnecker Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Waukesha. The Rev. Dick Oberley Officiated.

Shirley Behrens was born July 12, 1927, in Sparta, to Albert and Violet (nee Gaines) Oswald. She spent most of her life taking care of her home and family, but she did find time to show off her specialty as a cook in a number of dining establishments in and around Wisconsin. She married her husband, Doug Behrens, on Oct. 14, 1945. She resided at Waukesha Springs Rehabilitation Center, along with her husband, until the time of her death.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Doug; children, Roxy (Bill) Jaeger, Sue St. Clair, Marcia (Douglas) Ensinger, Charlene Barrera, Barbara Sprang. Gail (Marie) Riser, Brenda (Rex) Aldrich, Jeff (Danell) Behrens and Julie (Joe) Pleura; 15 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
