Darrel W. Loos, 76, Colby, died on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at the Colonial Center, Colby. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 14, at the Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Wis. Inurnment was in the Colby Memorial Cemetery.
Darrel W. Loos was born Jan. 11, 1931, in Colby, to Walter and Nina (nee Riemer) Loos. He married Marion Scheffler and they later divorced. He farmed in rural Colby and was employed with Packaging Corporation of America, Colby, for 36 years. He was a Mr. Fix-it handyman, helping neighbors and friends with repairs and also did maintenance for the elderly. He enjoyed stock car racing, camping, dancing, snowmobiling and photography.
Survivors include his children, Mark (Mary) Loos, Mosinee, Brian (Sally) Loos, Mosinee, Tommy Loos, Marathon, and Jane (Jerry) Herzog, Wausau; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorraine Morrow, Virginia Beach, Va., and Emilie (Edward) Kappel, Stratford; and one brother, Dean (Ann) Loos, Colby.
